Kristina’s Leisure Activities (2024)

My most important leisure activities consist of playing the clarinet in a concert band, singing in a local band, doing board activities, read about digital technologies and have daily walks – preferably in nature.

And even though I am above average interested in dogs and watch new digital technologies, shared moments with family and friends are highest on my priority list.

Music

My most important leisure activities revolve around music. I loved singing as a child, and both then and now I sing as soon as the opportunity presents itself. And since third grade at primary school I’ve been playing the clarinet – with a few years’ exception while my boys were little.

In my childhood and adolescence, I had a regular leisure activity – playing the clarinet in the school band. I started playing in the school band in third grade, and played there until I finished high school.

Then I continued to play in student orchestra and adult concert band, until 2011 when I ended up among the clarinets in Oppegård janisjar where I still play.

When I was a kid, I loved to sing and entertain my family and neighborhood. And as a student, I participated as a singer and actor in two of the student revues. I also worked part-time for a couple of years as a singing waitress. In 2023, I included singing on a regular basis and joined a local band. In addition, I step in when my brother needs an extra choir voice on his music project “Stream of Self”.

Belgian Shepherd

I have been lucky enough to have the world’s best two dogs of the breed Belgian Sheepdog – respectively Tervuren and Groenendael. I spent many hours in the woods and practiced, among other things, search and tracking in addition to the regular dog walks.

For the time being, I prioritise my musical leisure dactivities, and only borrow dogs from friends and family from time to time.

Other Roles

My leisure activities also include board activities. Currently, I am a board member in Oppegård janitsjar as well as chairman of the board in boligsameiet Holbergsvei 1.

New Digital Technologies

In December 2019 the Solberg Government presented Meld. St. 11 (2019–2020) Report to the Storting (white paper).

The following excerpt caught my attention: “Digital transformation is about changes that are so fundamental that they change entire societies and business models. It affects people’s everyday lives, changes the way we communicate, work and interact with each other, and enables companies to develop entirely new services.

Besides the digital platforms we already have such as search engines, social media, e-commerce and payment platforms, new digital technologies will enable large

database systems and computer networks to move from centralized to decentralized solutions.

But what does this mean? How will it affect individuals, business, the internet, and websites?

A lot is happening in a short period of time in many areas. So one of my leisure activities is pondering: “What new opportunities will small and medium-sized businesses have when open-source software or freeware is combined with blockchain technology and decentralized finance (DeFi)?
