Besides creating user-friendly webpages with useful content for defined user groups, my focus as a content designer is also mobile-friendly webpages optimized for search engines.
In my webpage designer role I use WordPress with the standard block theme Twenty Twenty-Four. Besides creating designs from scratch, I customize the theme’s patterns and website designs such as: articles, landing pages, banners and CTA blocks. Without third party webpage builder. Without any code.
Webpage Design
A webpage is a document on the internet (www) that opens in a browser. The webpage may contain text, images, sound, video, animations and links to other webpages. Several webpages linked together under the same domain (URL address) constitue a website. To use a book as a metaphor: a webpage is like a single book page, while the website represents the entire book.
In the past, knowledge of HTML (Hyper Text Markup Language) was required to create static web pages, and server technologies such as PHP to develop dynamic ones. Today, webpages can be designed and built without code, using tools such as website builders and content management systems (CMS).
Website builders such as Wix or features in WordPress CMS give users the ability to build and customize websites with drag-and-drop tools. This makes website design accessible to more people, and opens up creative solutions without the need for technical expertise. At the same time, design and structure are important factors in creating a good user experience and ensuring that the website fulfils its purpose – whether it is to inform, inspire or drive action.
WordPress
WordPress is a content management system (CMS), a free tool or platform to create, edit and manage your own website, blog or portfolio. Without the need to learn code.
To get started, you need a domain name and a web host where you store and share your web pages. Then you’ll have to install your preferred WordPress theme which includes design and various core functionality.
Thousands of business owners, bloggers and start-ups use WordPress to showcase their ideas, products and services online. More than 40% of all websites in the world are built using WordPress.

Block Theme
In a block-based theme, a web page consists of many different blocks. From content blocks such as title, text or image. Function blocks such as query loop for blog posts or social media embeds. To theme blocks like navigation menu, header or footer.
As a webpage designer I use WordPress with the standard block theme Twenty Twenty-Four. Besides creating designs from scratch, I customize the theme’s patterns and website designs such as: articles, landing pages, banners and CTA blocks. Without third party webpage builder. Without any code.
Twenty Twenty-Four
Twenty Twenty-Four is a native WordPress block theme. It’s designed to be flexible, versatile and applicable to any website. And with the accompanying templates and patterns, creating a portfolio, blog or business website is quick and easy.
As a webpage designer, I have based my webpages on the Twenty Twenty-Four theme. Partly because it’s a native WordPress theme. Which makes me confident it will be updated regularly, and not suddenly disappear. In addition, it’s easy to customize the included templates and patterns. Or create new ones from scratch. With no need for a third-party webpage builder makes this an affordable solution.
I create web pages such as articles, blog posts, portfolio or landing pages. And patterns for parts of the website such as banner, customer testimonials or various Call-To-Action (CTA) blocks.
Besides creating user-friendly webpages with useful content for defined user groups, my focus is mobile-friendly webpages optimized for search engines.
Analyze
What worked a few months ago doesn’t have to work as well today. Although some content worked well for one target audience, it doesn’t necessarily work for another. As a webpage designer I also analyze online statistics, I can assess whether the content worked in relation to objectives or whether an adjustment is needed.
Technical SEO
I also work with technical SEO to increase the organic traffic to the website. Page speed, code, structure and user experience for visitors are some key words. Besides, I work with backlinks, link building and «off-page SEO».
